Q 2. Describe and give examples of at least 2 of the social and/or environmental consequences from moving from foraging (hunting/gathering) to farming? (*referring to pre-industrial farming here.)
Agriculture has its roots in the Neolithic era around 12000 years ago. This agricultural development is also known as “Neolithic Revolution”. Before the Neolithic revolution, people spent a life like wanderers as they did not settle on one place and lived a life of hunter-gatherer. After this “Neolithic Evolution”, people started to settle down at one place instead of roaming around. Neolithic revolution started in the Fertile Crescent of Middle East, which is a boomerang shaped region where humans first started farming. Neolithic era is also known as the New Stone Age as the people during this era used similar tools as the Stone Age people.
